Okay, I get accused of letting too many things bother me … and I guess I stand guilty as charged! The thing that is bothering me today are these blog giveaways. I admit that I have fallen victim to them … spending an hour chasing my tail as I hop from one site to another, leave a comment here, join a twitter there, become a Facebook friend for another …. good golly gracious me!
If you want to give away some neat new gadget or fabric collection, just give it away! Tell everyone to go to a website that shows a picture of the item you’re trying to advertise (without us actually realizing that you’re doing it) and have a sign-up form on that page for people to leave their name and contact info. Stop making me run from website to website while calling it by some cute name, or making me think that it’s a PARTY! It’s not!
(okay, I’ll go to the quilt room and cheer up now)
I totally agree with you. When I see a give away I don't even stop to look ,I just keep going to the next blog. I played it one time and I thought it way to much trouble. Yes,just give it away. But I think some of these sites are set up for them to get paid for each foot print that passes through
ReplyDeleteI never look at them. Waste of my time to get involved. All the same people win anyway. Chris
ReplyDeleteI thought I was the only one tired of these giveaways. I think they are a nice idea, but some blogs seem to be taken over by this. I just skip by them. Bernie
ReplyDeleteGiveaways as giveaways are great, in my opinion. I have been lucky enough to win a few and have hosted, oh, maybe half a dozen myself. BUT, I never require anything but a comment and I do not enter any giveaways that require more than that myself. A gift is a gift. It doesn't need to come with strings attached.
ReplyDeleteI feel your frustration too. I think a giveaway should be just that, without strings and gimmicks so I skip those that have hoops. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just love a good giveaway, but like you, prefer them to be a simple and honest one blog stop. The big "maze chase" isn't for me either!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!
