Civil War BOW – Blockade (22)

Finished this week’s block super early this week!

22 Blockade

Baby Bernina to the rescue …

Well, she’s not Aurora – but my little Bernina 230PE will have to fill in for her big sister for the next few days.  I know it’s unfair to call her “Baby Bernina” but I called her that once and the name has kind of stuck.  She’s a bit smaller than my Aurora – so I think that’s why I call her “Baby”.  And she doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles that Aurora has.  But she’s a nice machine for classes or other occasions when travel is required. Or filling in when Aurora is away for her “spa treatment”  (he he)  Wish I had a nice cabinet for her – but I don’t.  So she’ll set in Aurora’s place and it will feel like I’m doing my patchwork up in the air.

Aurora Withdrawal …

It’s been less than 24 hours since my (Bernina) Aurora went in for her annual cleaning – and already I’m feeling her absence.  What a sad sight to see an empty shelf where she is normally perched – waiting to sew her perfect stitches.

Charm Play: Origins – Day 1

I got this fun little wall hanging pattern (Charm Play by Larisa Key) at a quilt shop in Shiloh, Ohio – and despite it being a more traditional shop, in an actual rebuilt barn, I got this very modern groups of fabrics called Origins there.  Here’s the first of four blocks …
