More potholders starting to come together …

After another sewing session last Thursday, and another one today … our work is starting to come together.

  1. Your group has completed quite a collection of Ohio Star pot holders. Good work.

    1. Karen ... The Ohio Star potholders in this picture are just potholders. We're making them with Ohio Star blocks on the front, and the shape of the State of Ohio appliqued on the back. They will be sold as a fundraiser for the Daughters of 1812 and the OGS Library.

The potholder quilt is a different animal ... these are 14" squares of fabric that are layered with batting and backing fabric, and binding is attached to all four sides. Once you've made about 8 - 10 - 20 - more more ... you whip stitch them together to make a quilt. The quilts are featured in a very nice book called CIVIL WAR QUILTS by Pam Weeks and Don Beld, published by Schiffer Publishing Ltd.
