Lots of water!
We were at Mom & Dad’s house Saturday late afternoon when the skies opened up … Soon water was completely covering the street!
Here’s a vehicle that didn’t slow down in time – and soon realized just how much water was on the street!
And the park across the street was filling up with water quickly!

Grandmother’s Choice BOW – Block #42
Wow … here we are, Monday already … what happened to the weekend? I finally had a little time to work on this week’s block before my meeting. Barbara Brackman called this block Cats & Mice.

Grandmother’s Choice BOW–Block 41
This week’s block (#41) was called Contrary Wife.
It’s been a busy few days, and while tired, it was kind of nice to get into the quilt room and do this week’s block.

Tam’s Patch Block Swap Blocks Arrived!
I participated in a Tam’s Patch block swap with a group on Yahoo! called Block_Swappers. The theme was black & white fabrics. My return blocks arrived in today’s mail! Woo Hoo!!!
Unfortunately one of the blocks was incorrectly assembled, and three others didn’t really have the colors placed in the right spots. So I will have to make two more blocks with the white centers. Now that I’m looking at the photo – I think some rearranging is in order – since there are too many light colors in the upper left. But I do think it will turn out to be a fun quilt. Since I’m a Civil War repro and 1930’s repro quilt lover … doing a quilt in black & white was a departure for me. But just this past Monday I was talking about taking a quilt to sit on at my nephew’s T-Ball game, and this might be the start of a fun picnic quilt!

A little too warm for my taste …
Well, it’s the first Saturday in June … and all of the hot weather lovers are surely enjoying this day. If you’ve read many of my posts, you know that I’m NOT a hot weather fan. So I struggled through today up in the quilt room – where the air conditioning never quite seems to cool things down enough.
I worked on block #40 from the Grandmother’s Choice block-of-the-week. Barbara Brackman calls this block Art Square.
And then I did block #6 from the Dixie Diary block-of-the-month. Barbara Brackman calls this block Dreams of Home.
