Blessing Baskets BOW (Week 5)

Got Block #5 done this evening, and followed it up with finishing the top.  Unfortunately the directions were a bit off – and caused me to have to do some finagling in order to get everything to go together.   I’ll tackle the quilting tomorrow!  (picture is a little blurry)

Actually got this block done on the same day it was published.  Woo Hoo!!

Picked out some colors …

Traveled over to Marion around 1:30 this afternoon to take advantage of a fabric sale at Good Wives Co. today.  Got stuff for several projects …

Got some of this because it’s poison green and cheddar …

And a couple of backings … (9 yards total)

And a yard of a nice shirting to use for a possible upcoming swap …

Got back into town in time to stop at the bank.  When the teller handed me the receipt, I promptly dropped it – and it flew under the car.  So I had to pull up far enough away from the building so that I could open my car door and get out.  Then I had to walk back toward the window and get the receipt off of the ground.  Thankfully there were no cars behind me in line!

I stopped for some chocolate milk for later, and then a quick drive to Wendy’s for a sandwich for dinner.  I was home by 5:30.

Blessing Baskets (Block/Week 3)

Spent all day Thursday at OGS working on quilted potholders with Sunda and Janet.  Was super tired all day Friday.  Saturday was Jake’s 2nd. birthday party, so we had to travel up to that – and ended up being gone from 11:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Sunday I had to go out and get some shirts.  Was hoping to also find some Capri pants, but I didn’t like the ones that I tried on.   By the time I got home it was just about supper time!

So … it wasn’t until LATE Sunday night that I was able to get around to making block #3.

Primitive Pinwheels – Day 2

Got the rest of the top put together.  Did the quilting tonight and attached the binding to the front.  I’ll try to get the binding done tomorrow.

Primitive Pinwheels – Day 1

Started this small piece called Primitive Pinwheels tonight after all of the shows were over. 

This is the type of quilt that you start by making a simple patchwork quilt base (in this case the squares were 3½”).  The borders were 2¼” wide. 

You use a template to cut pieces from that, and arrange them in a pinwheel design.

I got the pattern and template over at Good Wives Co. in Marion (OH) on Saturday.
