Tumbling Acorns (10/16/07)

This has to be one of the best quilts that I’ve ever made.  I love the fall colors – and that it’s a casual quilt.  It’s a big quilt … almost a queen-sized item.  The fabrics are soft, and it’s sooooooo  comfy to snuggle in.  It took me FOREVER to quilt this one … and it has miles of thread in it.  I did a ton of grid quilting in this one, using Superior’s Bottom Line thread in an old sage green color.   In late ‘08 this quilt would come in handy when my husband broke his ankle (in two places) and needed two surgeries.  He ended up sleeping on the couch in the family room from mid-October to mid-January … and this quilt is what kept him warm through the winter.
