Small Endearment Quilt (Jan. 24, 2014)
Finished up this little guy last night - but waited 'til this morning to get a better photo. It was called the Small Endearment Quilt, and it's only 15" x 21½". The brown fabric is that fabric that has the antiqued/distressed look to it - so that's why it has the color variations. It's a reproduction of a late 19th. century quilt. I kept the quilting simple - just diagonal lines in an medium brown thread.
It’s a bittersweet feeling finishing up some of the quilts that I got from Good Wives Co. in Marion, Ohio. They are preparing to close their doors forever – which is so very sad.

X Marks The Spot (January 23, 2014)
Finished up this X Marks The Spot wall hanging tonight …
… it measures about 19½” square. Here are a couple of pictures of the quilting …
I used a pattern from urbanelementz.com for the quilting. I used a variegated LAVA thread from Superior Threads to do the quilting. The Moda kit (from fatquartershop.com) was a Christmas present from my Mom back in 2009. I pieced it in January of 2010, and it’s been waiting to be quilted since then.

Pheasant Run Log Cabin (January 22, 2014)
Finished up this nice little wall hanging this evening. The fabrics are very busy, so you really can’t see a lot of the quilting that I did.
The kit was from a great little quilt shop in Georgia called Little Quilts.

Frosted Heart & Soul … 21 January 2014
Finished up this wall hanging last night.
The blue prints were from an older Moda line called Heart & Soul. The white is a white print with white holly leaves printed on it. I used Superior Threads LAVA in a variegated blue as the thread for the corner quilting.

Last couple of days …
Two more stars for Fussy Cut Friday …
… and earlier in the day a quick and easy wall hanging in blue and white …
… and I got the 1930’s quilt top all put together and ready to be quilted …
… and a little green floral print box from some fabrics and batting in my stash …
… and we got my Countdown To Christmas wall hanging put up by the front door!
… and I did a little wall hanging with Pheasant Run fabrics.

Fussy Friday Stars for 1/10/2014
Made two stars this week for Fussy Friday! (This is something that Temecula Quilt Co. is doing at their blog – check it out!)
Aurifil BOM – Block 1
Finally had a chance to work on block one for the Aurifil BOM 2014. I’m doing this BOM in turquoise prints with a very modern white print as the background. I love turquoise and it is my birthstone – so I’ve collected a few turquoise prints over the years. Now I’m using them!!

Sourdough Starter
My sourdough starter is almost two weeks old now – and it’s really getting bubbly and wonderful. It smells divine. We’ve made buttery sourdough rolls and two loaves of sourdough bread so far.

Fussy Cut Friday – Star 1
I like the way some parts of this came out – but I don’t completely like the way the center came out.

Now Open!
I got my vendor’s license on Friday, and that was the final piece of the puzzle … I’m now officially open for business. My longarm quilting business is ready to go! I’m focusing on allover (edge-to-edge) designs but can do price quotes for partial custom quilting.
I’ve got a website at http://lexingtonquilter.wix.com/aalqs#. I’ve also got some special holiday pricing specials through eBay – just look up amyarmstrong as my seller ID.
Warm & Natural cotton batting or Warm Soft & Bright are included in my base prices, but you can switch to a number of other battings by Warm or Quilter’s Dream if you’ve got a favorite for anywhere from $1 to $10 extra. I can accommodate quilts up to 98” wide. (length can be longer)
I am signed up to take PayPal and will ship your quilt back to you via USPS Priority Mail.
Wish me luck! (and please send people my way)
Amy

Four Block School House Quilt – Day 1
Just finished up this cute little quilt top called Four Block School House Quilt. (27” square) It’s part of the Little Quilts Sorority Sisters Club through Little Quilts in Marietta, Georgia.
They gave the instructions so that it could be strip pieced, and it went very fast. It’s in solid red and white.
Another cute little fold up tote bag …
I’ve made several of these now … but they’re so much fun, and they’re a neat present. I made this one tonight as a thank you gift.
I’ve posted the link to the instructions twice before, so if you scroll down to a few posts ago – you’ll see the links.

Mystery Quilt (well, one of them) On Design Wall
This is a picture of *most* of the blocks for this mystery quilt. The rest of the blocks won’t fit until it starts to shrink up a bit as the blocks are sewn together. Really wanted to get them put together today, but I was so sleepy most of the day and needed that nap this afternoon to help get rid of the headache I’ve had for three days.

Should I blog from anywhere?
Mystery Quilt Starting To Take Shape
The two blocks aren’t attached or trimmed, but here’s what two of them will look like next to each other!
