Doll Quilt Swap at Humble Quilts
My doll quilt swap partner sent my little doll quilt and it arrived from Maryland yesterday!
What a cute little quilt. Taryn told me that it was machine quilted and hand quilted.
I should probably show some photos of the one that I made for my swap partner … I sent mine off on April 9th. My partner Martha lived in Washington state.

Homemade Laundry Detergent & Fabric Softener
Okay, I’ve had the recipe for a couple of weeks now, but with being busy and being sick I’m just now able to put it together. I got my ingredients at Walmart on Wednesday while we did some grocery shopping. I got the “recipe” at the Liz Marie blog, where she gave her review after having used it for the past year. I put a portion of the detergent in this clear plastic container - but I’d like to find something different. They say that it makes enough to last the whole year. I also made the homemade fabric softener but I didn’t take a picture of that.

Design Wall Monday 3/3/2014
Okay, I’ve been down with a flu bug for the last couple of days … didn’t get much accomplished. Here’s what’s on my design wall.

Poppy Seed Bagels
Can you believe that I didn’t go into the quilt room, or down to the longarm, all day long? Here’s part of what I did do … here are three of the bagels boiling in some water with a bit of sugar.
And here are six of the bagels that have been sprinkled with poppy seeds and baked.
They are made with regular AP white flour (King Arthur of course). The darker color comes from the molasses that I use instead of sugar in the dough.

Two panels at once!
Awhile ago, not really sure when specifically, I purchased TWO identical panels. They’re from Moda, and are just so cute. My plan was to give one to a friend and do one for myself. I finally loaded them onto the longarm frame on Monday and am treating the pair as one single quilt. I’m using the same backing fabric (a navy blue star print) for both. I selected a sort of antique brown thread from my So Fine! drawer to do some meander stippling across both. When done, I’ll cut them off of the machine – take them to the quilt room where I can cut them apart precisely and then bind each one with some 1.75” single-fold binding strips.
One more pass on Wednesday and they’ll be ready to come off the longarm!
