The usual exhaustion …

I gave a speech yesterday at one of the local universities as part of their continuing education program for adults (well, people older than the usual college age).  After every speech that I do, I am usually exhausted beyond belief the next day.  I think it’s because I hold all of the stress in … and when the speech is over, it takes a couple of days for me to get back on track.

Lauren’s Hat Pins–Day 2

I had the chance to make six more blocks today.

Lauren’s Hat Pins–Day 1

I started a cute little wall hanging last night called Lauren’s Hat Pins.  I got the kit for it at one of the shops in Mt. Vernon, Ohio called Paw Patch.  As you can see from the photo, it’s a diagonal set.  There will be 19 more Shoofly blocks.  (and they are small – eeek!)

Civil War BOW–First Four Blocks

Well, I got some of my fabrics on Friday, and now I had a chance to put the first four blocks of the Civil War Block-Of-The-Week together …

So far the colors that I seem to be working with are golds, olive greens and reds.

My first machine quilting designs

Well, my Pro-Stitcher was set up on Saturday.  Right after my HandiQuilter rep. left, I had to dash out the door because I was about 15 minutes late for my Dad’s birthday party/dinner and it takes a solid 15 minutes to get there, and I still had to change clothes.  Needless to say this is NOT the way that I had envisioned this day going.   I’ve only been waiting FOREVER to get the Pro-Stitcher… and now I have one!

Today I created my first designs … yes, they’re simple, basic designs, done with the help of the software – but I did them!  Late this evening I put them on a USB stick and took them down to test stitch – and they turned out g-r-e-a-t.

New dishwasher …

We had our new dishwasher installed a couple of days ago – and I keep forgetting to post a picture of it.  It’s a Samsung … and it is SOOOOOOO COOOOOLLLLLL.  Our other dishwasher died a few months ago, and every time we tried to get out to get a new one – some other little thing would happen …. flat tires, trips to the dentist, etc. etc. etc.  So now we’ve finally got a few one – it’s here, and working, and it’s just wonderful!  It is so quiet that we barely know that it’s on when we’re in the family room watching t.v.  And even when we’re standing in the kitchen, it’s still very quiet.  (and Toby is just happy that the installation guy left)

I’ve waited for quite a while, but this weekend I *should* be getting the Pro-Stitcher computer add-on for my HQ-16.  I’m soooooo excited!
